What to Expect

When you make an appointment with one of our Doctors, you will be invited to our online patient portal. Please fill out your patient paperwork before your appointment or come in 15 minutes early to fill it out in office. During your first visit, you will receive a consultation, neuro-spinal assessment, and (unless there are indications otherwise) your first chiropractic adjustment at Pure Light.

In our office, we practice many different techniques depending on your individual needs. We can do traditional adjustments where we manually move the spine, but also have a variety of low force and gentle techniques. During your first appointment, we will work together to find out which combination of techniques work for you!

The cost for a first visit is $100 for adults and $80 for children (we accept cash, check, debit, or credit). Please plan to spend 30-45 minutes with us so we can connect with you.

Insurance Questions

In order to provide affordable care without compromise, Pure Light Chiropractic has chosen not to accept any forms of insurance at this time. We accept cash, check or credit card (We happily accept HSA and FSA cards and provide an invoice for insurance filing purposes). By eliminating the paperwork and not negotiating with a third party over the value of your well-being, Pure Light Chiropractic is able to concentrate fully on you and your needs.

Chiropractic Care for Pain Relief

We understand that most people who are starting chiropractic care have some form of acute or chronic pain and we are here for you! Our visits range from gentle to traditional manual adjustments depending on your needs and level of inflammation. We like to get to know our patients and peel off the symptoms layer by layer until we uncover the root cause of your problem. In addition, we are now offering a cupping/myofascial treatment that you can tack on to your original visit. This can significantly increase the speed of your healing journey.

Wellness Care

Our goal is to help change people’s health paradigm through regular maintenance chiropractic care. These visits look like weekly or bi-monthly visits that can help boost your immune system, calm your nervous system, help you process stress, improve your sleep, and maintain normal biomechanical movement in your body. Prenatal Chiropractic Care

People who have gotten chiropractic care during their pregnancy have reported less pain, more ease of movement, proper positioning of the baby, and shorter labor time. We practice a technique called Webster’s technique on our pregnant patients. You will get a comfortable, special pillow with a cut-out for your belly so you can lay face down. Webster is a technique that consists of gently adjusting the sacrum and releasing the soft tissue around your pelvis. We recommend getting chiropractic care as soon as you find out you are pregnant, as we often see patients for preconception care. In practice, we often see people start care when they first show, as the hips shift drastically during this time and can cause discomfort. We also recommend coming in for the third trimester to ensure proper positioning of the baby, especially if your baby is not head down by 32 weeks.

Postnatal Chiropractic Care

Postnatal visits are a quick and easy way to help your body cope with the changes it makes in the first year of motherhood. Please feel free to bring your baby to your visit. If they are fussy during your adjustment, our office staff is happy to hold them or soothe them in whichever way you need. We also have special pillows for your breasts that allow you to lie face down comfortably. Postpartum adjustments not only help bring your body back to neutral after carrying a baby, but they also help you to process the physical, mental, and emotional stressors of new motherhood.

Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Most infants we see sleep through their adjustment! We use the amount of pressure on their spine that you would use to check to see if a tomato is ripe. Because their bones are made of cartilage and not bone, gentle vibration, sustained pressure, and low-force tools are all we need to help your infant thrive. While many new moms bring their babies in for a wellness check up after birth, we also see infants who are having trouble breastfeeding, are fussy, turn their heads to one side, spit up often, have colic, or who have a lot of tension in their body.

Chiropractic Care for Kids

We are a trauma-informed office and have no intention of forcing an adjustment on your child if they are scared or uncomfortable. Our goal with children is to make them feel comfortable the entire time. We often start by having them adjust a stuffed animal with a toy adjusting tool and then lying on their parent if they need extra comfort. We have adjusted children on the floor, in the waiting room, while they stand in a corner, in a pile of toys, in a lap, or with a chance to run around between each adjustment. Many people bring their children in for monthly check ups to ensure proper biomechanical development. We also see kids who have ear infections, chronic colds, constipation, bed wetting, sleep issues, problems with coordination, abnormal movement patterns, and complaint of tension and pain.

Chiropractic Care Special Needs Children

If your child has special needs, we are here for them. We will get to know your child and schedule appropriately if we need more time. A special needs visit aims to calm the nervous system and relieve the child of the chronic flight-fight stress response. Our team will do what we need to achieve this goal. We can work with the light and music off. We can work with a screen in place, and we will never force your child to do things far outside their comfort zone.
