Chiropractic Tools and Techniques
For traditional adjustments, our doctors practice Diversified Technique. A specific way to physically move the joints in the spine and extremities to bring relief and relaxation to your neuro-spinal system. With this technique, you may hear popping noises, like you would hear if you popped your knuckles. This noise is just air escaping from the joints and is harmless. After manual adjustments, people report feeling more mobile and less tense.
If you are wanting more low force or gentle adjustments, we use tools such as the Activator, Arthrostim, and Integrator. These tools are designed to deliver a controlled, precise force to specific areas of the spine or joints, promoting realignment and relieving tension. The tool typically consists of a spring-loaded mechanism housed within a slender, pen-like casing. It provides an impulse often described as a gentle tapping or clicking sensation.
Our pregnant patients receive a technique called Webster Technique which is specific for optimizing pelvic biomechanics to potentially facilitate an easier and more comfortable pregnancy and birth process.
Thompson Technique is also commonly used in our practice. This technique includes drop tables. It is a way to move the pelvis without having to manually twist the spine. The table comes up about 2 inches and then drops back down when gentle force is applied to the pelvis. The Thompson Technique is often favored by chiropractors and patients alike for its precision, comfort, and effectiveness. It can be particularly beneficial for individuals who prefer a gentler approach to chiropractic care.
Logan technique, SOT, and cranial-sacral technique are also used in our practice. These are gentle low force techniques used to unwind the spinal cord, allow the cranial bones to move correctly and to remove tension from the body.
